Dear Minister,
I am writing as a resident of Powys to ask you to urgently review the 104-week waiting policy affecting Powys patients who need planned treatment across the border.
The policy came into effect on 1 July 2025 and can mean Powys residents facing much longer waits for planned surgery than patients living just across the border in England.
I do not believe it is fair that where someone lives should determine how long they have to wait for planned treatment.
Please review the policy and take action to ensure Powys residents have fair and timely access to planned surgery.
