MP David Chadwick meets the BLIP team on Friday 10th April

• The meeting focused on the “Guarantee Our Essentials” campaign, with our current ask being an independent process to ensure Universal Credit covers the real cost of essentials.

• We discussed concerns around Universal Credit, rising poverty, and continued high food bank use in Powys.

• We thanked David for his continued support and recent work supporting families on low incomes.

• We shared real experiences and case studies from people in the local area.

• We also briefly discussed our campaign on the 104-week waiting time policy for Powys patients accessing treatment in English hospitals.

• We asked for continued support in Parliament, particularly on cost of living and food bank issues. David Chadwick agreed to take the issues forward in Parliament.
